Changing of the Guard
With sincere regrets we inform you that Officer Robert "Barney" Barnhart, Ahwatukee's Police Community Action Officer for the last 10 years, has officially retired as of Wednesday, July 5th after 37 years with the Phoenix Police Department. He will be GREATLY missed by Peggy and Mary, and I'm sure by you as well.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Community Action Officer, Armida Gonzales, who has been transitioning as our new CAO with Barney for the last several months. This compilation of candid interviews of OFFICER ROBERT "BARNEY" BARNHART chronicles many of his experiences as a police officer, including remembrances of many of his colleagues and is an important part of Phoenix city and police history.
This book is not being offered for sale. To obtain a copy, Barney is asking for a donation to be made to the 100 Club of Arizona. All profit from this publication will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona, an Arizona non-profit organization providing financial assistance to families of Police Officers and Firefighters of Arizona who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
